Overview

Overview

SGT Smart TPMS is a wireless tyre-pressure and temperature monitoring system for trucks, buses, trailers and off-road vehicles. Compact valve-stem or band-mount sensors broadcast live PSI and tyre-temperature to an in-cab head unit and to the fleet cloud, while a slow-leak detector catches gradual loss long before the driver feels it on the wheel.

Under-inflation is the single largest cause of premature tyre wear, blowouts and fuel-economy loss in commercial fleets. Smart TPMS pays for itself through reduced tyre replacement, fewer roadside callouts, and 3–5% measurable fuel savings — while making every blowout and every slow leak a managed event instead of a roadside emergency.

  • Per-wheel PSI + temperature — every position, every minute, on every axle
  • Slow-leak detector — slope analysis over a 15-minute window catches losses of 0.3 PSI/min
  • Cab buzzer + warn light — driver knows within seconds, not at the next stop
  • Fleet roll-up — manager sees all vehicles, all axles, all alarms in one dashboard

How It Works

  1. Valve Sensors — replace the standard valve cap (or band-mount inside the wheel) on each tyre. Each sensor wakes every 30 seconds, samples pressure + temperature, and broadcasts an encrypted RF/BLE packet. Battery life 5–7 years sealed.
  2. Receiver + Algorithm — in-cab receiver pairs to all sensors, drives the head-unit display, runs the slow-leak slope detector and high-temperature heuristic locally, and fires the buzzer and warning light when thresholds trip.
  3. Fleet Cloud — every reading is uplinked over LTE (or relayed via your existing telematics gateway). The cloud computes per-vehicle health scores, ranks workshops by region, and reports fuel-savings YTD.
  4. Driver / Manager Alerts — push to driver phone, push to fleet manager, and an automatic SMS to the nearest workshop with the tyre size and recommended replacement.

Features

  • External (valve-cap) or internal (band-mount) sensor options per axle
  • Slow-leak detector — flags a leak from a slope of −0.3 PSI/min before pressure drops below the static threshold
  • High-temperature alarm — bearing-overheat / brake-drag detection (per-tyre temperature exceeding ambient by > 25 °C)
  • Trailer pairing — auto-detects connected trailer sensors when the trailer is hooked up
  • Sensor anti-theft — locking sleeve, pairing locked to vehicle VIN
  • Fuel-savings report — measured MPG delta vs baseline period, per vehicle and fleet-wide
  • Workshop integration — auto-SMS to the geographically nearest partner workshop with tyre size and recommended part
  • OTA firmware — head-unit and sensor firmware update over the air

Use Cases

  • Long-haul trucking — blowout prevention, fuel-economy gains, tyre-life extension
  • Bus & coach fleets — passenger safety, scheduled-route reliability
  • Trailer / chassis pools — sensors travel with the trailer, auto-pair when hooked to any tractor
  • Mining & quarry trucks — extreme load + heat operation, blowouts cost six figures
  • Refrigerated transport — door-open and PSI together protect the cold chain
  • Off-road & agricultural — large-diameter tyres where visual inspection misses early loss

Specifications

  • Sensor pressure range: 0–14 bar (0–203 PSI) ±1.5%, suitable for cars through heavy commercial
  • Sensor temperature range: −40 to +125 °C ±2 °C
  • Sensor RF: 433 MHz (regional) + BLE 5.0 for diagnostics, AES-128 link-layer encryption
  • Sensor battery: 5–7 years sealed (typical 30-second reporting interval)
  • Head unit: 4-tyre or 22-tyre variant, color LCD, 12/24 VDC, IP54
  • Fleet uplink: built-in 4G LTE, or relay via existing FMS/telematics gateway (J1939, Bluetooth, RS-232)
  • Environmental: sensors IP68, head unit −20 to +70 °C operating, automotive vibration spec
  • Certifications: E-mark, FCC, CE, RoHS; UN ECE R141 compliant for class M/N vehicles
