Overview

SGT Systems Limited's Industrial Hardware & Components catalogue is the supporting infrastructure range that underpins every IoT, automation and FinTech deployment we ship. The catalogue currently contains 7 SKUs covering the practical pieces that turn a box of smart electronics into a fielded, reliable, code-compliant installation: enclosures, power supplies, surge and lightning protection, industrial networking, mounting accessories and pre-terminated cabling.

Many of our customers come to us because they have already had a bad experience trying to source these "boring" parts locally — enclosures that arrived without the gland holes pre-cut, power supplies that didn't survive their first lightning season, switches that locked up under sustained load, cables that picked up noise the moment they were run alongside a motor feeder. The components catalogue solves these problems by curating a short, opinionated list of industrial-grade parts that we ourselves use in our deployments, tested for South-Asian operating conditions, locally stocked, and supported under the same warranty regime as our smart-electronics products.

The catalogue exists for three buyers: system integrators who want a single trusted supplier for project bills of material; in-house engineering teams retrofitting existing plants or fleets; and academic / lab buyers building research test-rigs. Pricing is project-friendly, lead times are short, and our applications team is available to specify the right SKU for the customer's environment rather than just shipping whatever the customer asks for.

This document is the catalogue's category overview. Individual SKU datasheets contain the per-product ratings, certifications and dimensional drawings.

A textbook outdoor or industrial-cabinet installation begins at the service entrance with a Type-1 SPD, feeds an industrial DIN-rail power supply, then branches out to PLCs / edge gateways, the managed Ethernet switch, and the field instruments. Outdoor links (cameras, 4G antennas, RS-485 runs to remote enclosures) get their own data SPDs at both ends of the run. The entire arrangement lives inside one or more of our IP65/IP66 enclosures, with cable entry through pre-cut, sealed gland plates and pole or wall mounts sized to the local wind-load conditions.

Industries we serve in this category

  • Telecom and infrastructure: tower-base enclosures, redundant DC supplies, surge protection
  • Utilities (water, power, gas): RTU cabinets, outdoor switching, distribution panel SPDs
  • Manufacturing: control-cabinet PSUs, plant-floor managed switches, machine-side IP67 cabling
  • Ports and logistics: outdoor lane cabinets, weather-sealed networking, PoE+ for gate cameras
  • Smart cities and building services: outdoor enclosures for intersection controllers, lighting, sensors
  • System integrators and academic labs: short-run, high-quality parts for test rigs and pilot deployments

Customisation & OEM

Customisation in the components catalogue is mostly practical: we pre-machine gland plates to the customer's I/O plan, factory-assemble cabinets with PSUs / SPDs / switches already wired and tested, supply pre-terminated cables cut to length, and silk-screen enclosures with the customer's branding. For OEM partners we also offer custom enclosure tooling on volume orders, and private-labelled networking SKUs preloaded with the partner's network configuration.

Where the customer's requirement falls outside what we stock, we can usually source through our supplier network within the same lead time as our standard SKUs.

Ordering & logistics

  • Lead times: most enclosures, PSUs and mounting accessories in stock; SPDs and managed switches 1–2 weeks; custom-machined enclosures 3–4 weeks
  • MOQ: 1 unit; project pricing on cabinet-build orders above 5 units
  • Warranty: 12-month standard manufacturer's warranty on all electronics and active components; lifetime structural warranty on enclosure bodies
  • Shipping: same-week courier inside Bangladesh; pre-assembled cabinets crated for safe transport
  • Pre-assembly: we can deliver fully assembled, wired and tested cabinets to site, reducing on-site labour and risk

Support & documentation

The components catalogue is supported by the same applications-engineering team that supports our IoT, port, fleet, FinTech and factory products. That means a customer ordering an enclosure, PSU and SPD set from us also gets free pre-sales advice on sizing and selection — ensuring, for example, that the PSU has enough headroom for the eventual PoE load, or that the SPD coordination is correct between Type-1 and Type-2 stages. Customers ordering pre-assembled cabinets receive as-built wiring diagrams, a test report and a recommended preventive-maintenance schedule.

Reference projects and use patterns

The Industrial Hardware & Components catalogue supports almost every other product line we ship. Within our own deployments, the catalogue is the source for the enclosure that houses an outdoor IoT gateway, the surge-protection package on a remote-site telecom RTU, the PoE+ switch behind a port's gate-camera array, the wired Ethernet backbone of a factory's OEE deployment, and the pre-assembled control cabinet that arrives crated and ready-to-mount at a customer's substation. Outside our own deployments, the catalogue is heavily used by system integrators sourcing the supporting infrastructure for their own projects — choosing SGT because we stock locally, support locally, and pre-machine to spec without a surcharge on small quantities.

A particularly common use pattern is the "site-survival kit" — a packaged combination of a small outdoor enclosure, an appropriately sized PSU, a Type-2 SPD and pre-cut Cat-6 cabling — which integrators buy as a standard line item for every remote site in a multi-site project. We ship hundreds of these kits per year to telecom, utility and smart-city customers.

Selection guidance

Specifying industrial hardware correctly is more nuanced than the catalogue alone can convey, and a small selection mistake can have outsized field-failure consequences. The most common selection pitfalls we see are: undersized power supplies that have no headroom for future expansion (we recommend at least 30 % headroom on PSU sizing); SPDs installed without proper coordination between Type-1 and Type-2 stages, which can result in the Type-2 SPD failing first in a real lightning event; managed switches that lack the right ring-redundancy protocol for the customer's existing network; and enclosures whose gland positions don't match the cable entry direction of the site, forcing field cuts that compromise IP rating.

For any project bill of materials above a handful of items, we recommend customers ask our applications team to review the BoM before placing the order. The review is free and routinely catches sizing and coordination issues that would otherwise surface in the field weeks later.

Pre-assembled cabinet service

For customers who would rather receive a ready-to-mount cabinet than assemble one on site, SGT operates a dedicated cabinet-build workshop in Dhaka. Customers send us a single-line diagram and an I/O list; we return a fixed-price quotation; on acceptance we build, wire, label, factory-test and crate the cabinet, and deliver it with as-built drawings and a test report. The pre-assembled approach typically reduces total on-site commissioning time by 60–70 % compared to on-site assembly, eliminates wiring errors that would otherwise be caught only at commissioning, and produces a standardised, photographable installation that the customer's auditors can verify against the as-builts.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get custom-machined enclosures in small quantities?

Yes. Our workshop will machine gland holes, viewing windows and custom mounting holes on quantities as small as one unit, typically with a 3–4 week lead time on the customisation.

Do you supply spares for the components catalogue?

Yes — and for customers operating large multi-site networks we offer a spares-on-shelf service where we hold an agreed inventory of common spares reserved exclusively for that customer's contract.

Can SGT design a complete cabinet for a project I'm building?

Yes. Send us your single-line diagram, I/O list and environmental constraints, and our applications team will return a complete cabinet design (mechanical layout, BoM, wiring diagram, projected price) typically within five working days.

Do you supply industrial cabling by the metre?

Yes — we stock common industrial cable types on the drum and supply pre-terminated runs cut to the customer's specified length, eliminating the cable wastage and on-site termination effort of buying full drums.
