Overview

Overview

SGT P2P Lending Platform connects verified retail and SMB borrowers with retail and institutional investors in an auction-priced marketplace. Borrowers list a loan request, an ML credit-scoring engine assigns a grade and reserve rate, investors bid the rate down, and the platform auto-services every payment for the life of the loan.

Built for online lenders, neobank lending modules, microfinance institutions, and challenger consumer-credit brands that need open-loop marketplace dynamics with bank-grade risk controls and a clean investor experience.

  • Reverse auction — investors bid rate down, clearing rate determined by demand
  • ML credit grading — XGBoost on income, DTI, bureau, payment history, alt-data; AUC 0.85+
  • Auto-invest — investor sets rules (grade, term, rate, diversification), engine deploys cash 24/7
  • End-to-end servicing — disburse, EMI collection, late-stage workflow, recovery, legal handoff

How It Works

The diagram shows the four layers of a P2P lending marketplace. Hover any module to see live telemetry.

  1. Marketplace — borrowers post loan listings with amount, term, purpose, and grade badge. Each card has a progress bar filling in real time as bids arrive, time-left countdown, and bid count. Investors browse, sort, and tap to bid.
  2. Credit Engine — ML model returns a 300–850 score, maps to a grade (A+ through E) with a per-grade risk-adjusted reserve APR, plus feature-importance explanation for regulatory ECOA / FCA compliance.
  3. Investor Bids — ladder view of every investor's rate / amount / status (WIN / edge / OUT), live clearing rate, your portfolio metrics, and auto-invest rules engine.
  4. Servicing — per-loan lifecycle (listed → funded → disbursed → EMI 1..N → closed), book-health dashboard (on-time / 1-30 late / 30+ late / default / recovered), and the dunning workflow (SMS → email → DD retry → call → legal).

A continuous feedback channel pushes repayment data, recovery outcomes, score retraining signals, and policy-rule tweaks back into the engine — the purple stream along the bottom.

Features

  • Reverse-auction listings — borrowers set max APR, investors bid down, time-boxed (24h / 48h / 7d)
  • Whole-loan or fractional — investors buy a share (min £25) or one investor takes the whole loan
  • ML credit scoring — bureau data + open-banking transactions + alt-data + behavioural signals
  • Auto-invest engine — rule-based (grade / term / rate / diversification) or model-portfolio
  • Secondary market — sell your loan parts to other investors before maturity (with bid/ask spread)
  • Provision fund (optional) — pooled cushion that absorbs first-loss for low-grade loans
  • Collections workflow — automated dunning, debt-management plan, recovery partner handoff
  • Tax reporting — annual income statement, SA tax pack, capital-loss schedule for investors
  • Borrower portal — early settlement, EMI reschedule, hardship pause
  • Compliance pack — FCA P2P permission, ECOA / CCA, vulnerability framework, SCV reporting

Use Cases

  • Consumer lending — unsecured personal loans £1K–£25K for debt consolidation, home reno, life events
  • SMB lending — working-capital loans £5K–£100K for cafes, retail, services, online sellers
  • Property bridge — short-term secured loans backed by a charge over property
  • Invoice finance — investors fund unpaid invoices at a discount, repaid when debtor settles
