Overview

Overview

SGT BNPL Platform turns any checkout into a Pay-in-4 (or Pay-in-N) experience — interest-free for shoppers, paid-up-front for merchants. A real-time eligibility engine performs a soft-pull bureau check plus open-banking affordability assessment in under 200 ms, then schedules four equal instalments and auto-debits them every two weeks.

Built for online and in-store merchants, marketplaces, and embedded-finance partners who want higher AOV, higher conversion, and zero credit risk — SGT carries the receivable, handles servicing, and pays the merchant T+1.

  • Pay in 4 instalments — 25% today, then every 2 weeks; 0% interest if paid on time
  • Sub-200ms eligibility — soft-pull credit, no impact, open-banking cashflow check
  • +38% AOV / +24% conversion — measured median across merchant cohorts
  • FCA / state-licensed — affordability-led, vulnerability framework, cooling-off rights

How It Works

The diagram shows the four layers of a BNPL deployment. Hover any module to see live telemetry.

  1. Shopper Checkout — checkout widget displays Pay-in-4 alongside Pay-now and Pay-monthly; the 4-circle timeline shows when each instalment hits; clean trust strip, eligibility ribbon, total/interest/late-fee summary.
  2. Eligibility Engine — 4-stage pipeline (intake → soft bureau pull → open-banking cashflow → affordability decision) with explainable score, dynamic credit limit, and instant approve / decline / counter-offer.
  3. Repayment Schedule — per-loan plan view (1 paid, 1 due-soon highlighted, 2 scheduled), progress bar, multi-channel reminders (push / email / SMS / DD retry), pay-early CTA.
  4. Merchant Dashboard — AOV / conversion uplift, today's volume and net settlement, 7-day sparkline, integration status (Shopify / Woo / Magento / API), refund & dispute view — merchant is paid in full regardless.

A continuous feedback channel pushes limit bumps, repricing, merchant-specific offers, and refund-flow updates back into checkout — the pink stream along the bottom.

Features

  • Pay-in-N flexibility — Pay in 3, 4, 6, or 12; mix per-merchant or per-cart-size
  • Interest-bearing tier — longer plans with transparent APR (e.g., 6/12/24 months)
  • Soft-pull eligibility — bureau check with zero score impact (Experian / Equifax / TransUnion)
  • Open-banking affordability — 90-day cashflow read via PSD2 AISP licence
  • Dynamic credit limit — starts low, grows with on-time repayment behaviour
  • Vulnerability detection — flag indicators (gambling, payday, missed essentials), pause offering
  • Cooling-off & consumer rights — 14-day right of withdrawal, partial refunds, dispute portal
  • Merchant settlement T+1 — paid in full minus MDR; SGT carries credit risk
  • Refund flow — partial / full refunds adjust remaining instalments automatically
  • Marketplace mode — split MDR across multiple sellers in one cart (Amazon / Etsy style)
  • In-store QR — generate a one-time QR for offline checkout, same eligibility flow

Use Cases

  • Fashion & apparel — high-AOV impulse, return-friendly
  • Electronics & appliances — £500–£3K tickets, 6-12 month interest-bearing tier
  • Health & beauty — clinics, dental, optical, cosmetic procedures
  • Travel & hospitality — flights, holidays, hotel stays, split across booking-window
  • Home & furniture — bigger-ticket purchases with longer terms
  • Embedded finance — neobank or wallet adds BNPL inside its own app, white-label
