Yard RTLS
Real‑time location system for containers and equipment using UWB/GPS anchors.
⚡ LIVE: hover any module
Overview
Yard RTLS gives container terminals and intermodal yards a live top-down map of every container, reach stacker, yard truck and forklift on the asphalt. UWB anchors triangulate active tags to sub-meter accuracy, RFID gate reads confirm identity, and the position stream drives planning, security and equipment-utilisation dashboards.
Replaces walkie-talkie "where is…?" calls with a self-updating map. Cuts container search time, prevents geofence breaches, and feeds your TOS with truth-grade asset positions instead of stale last-known.
- Sub-meter accuracy on UWB tagged equipment, ~3 m mean across mixed-tag yards
- Asset universe — containers, RTGs, reach stackers, yard trucks, forklifts, gangs
- Geofence engine — alerts when a tag leaves its lane or enters a no-go zone
- TOS & ANPR fusion — gate-read identity stitched to UWB position
How It Works
- Anchor mesh — UWB anchors mounted on light poles, RTG legs and building corners, 6–30 per yard, time-synchronised over wired or wireless backhaul.
- Tags — pluggable UWB tag bricks bolted on equipment, magnetic tags on containers, hand-held tags for gangs. RFID gate reads associate tag IDs to container IDs.
- Location engine — TDoA multilateration solver, Kalman-filtered, fuses UWB + RFID + GPS (outdoor). Outputs (asset_id, x, y, z, t) at 1–10 Hz.
- Map & APIs — web map for ops, REST + MQTT egress for TOS, geofence rule engine for security and safety.
Features
- Live yard map — 1 Hz refresh, asset filter by type, route trails, replay-by-time
- Geofencing — polygon zones with enter / exit / dwell rules, multi-channel alert dispatch
- Equipment utilisation — movement vs idle time per asset, per shift, per operator
- Container locate — type a container ID, get position on map & ETA-to-gate
- Anti-collision — proximity alerts between heavy equipment
- RFID fusion — gate ANPR + RFID confirms container-to-tag binding
- Replay — any minute of any day rewound for incident investigation
- TOS bridge — live position push to Navis N4, CATOS, OPUS via REST / MQTT
Use Cases
- Container terminals — live map of stacks, equipment and gangs across the yard
- Intermodal rail yards — wagon and container tracking on rail aprons
- Bonded warehouses — customs-grade location history for cleared cargo
- Heavy industry yards — steel slab, log, pipe yard inventories with location
- Logistics & 3PL yards — trailer-pool location, dock door queueing
- Mining haul-roads — haul-truck position and proximity safety on private roads
