Thermostat
Overview
SGT Smart Thermostat is a learning, geofence-aware controller for split AC, central HVAC and underfloor heating — with up to 8 wireless zones, a weather forecast feed, peak-tariff awareness and an occupancy model that decides when to start cooling instead of waiting until you’re uncomfortable.
The wall unit is a round, glass-faced display with a single intuitive setpoint dial. Behind that simple face the thermostat is running a model that learns how fast each of your rooms heats up and cools down, watches the outdoor forecast, knows when your tariff peaks (so it pre-cools beforehand), and tracks where everyone in the household actually is — so it doesn’t cool an empty house.
- Learning model — gets to know your home in 5–7 days, then runs itself
- Up to 8 wireless zones with per-room damper / valve control
- Geofence + occupancy — only cools/heats the rooms with people in them
- Peak-tariff aware — pre-cools before the expensive window, coasts through it
How It Works
The diagram above shows the dial, the floorplan of zones, the weather feed and the family geofence working together. Hover any module to see its live telemetry.
- The thermostat dial — round glass display, single setpoint knob, on-screen mode (Heat / Cool / Auto / Eco), fan and current room temp.
- HVAC zones — wireless room sensors + motorised dampers / TRV valves keep each room within its own comfort band.
- Cloud weather & learning — outdoor forecast, tariff feed, and a per-room thermal model decide the next 24 hours of HVAC.
- App & geofence — iOS / Android app, family geofence, voice control; pre-cools as the first person heads home.
The amber stream along the bottom is the live command channel — setpoint, damper and occupancy changes flowing back to the HVAC system.
Features
- Learning thermal model — per-room heat-up / cool-down rates
- Up to 8 zones with wireless room sensors and dampers / TRV valves
- Geofence + presence — per-person, with manual override
- Weather-aware — pulls forecast and tunes setpoint by upcoming load
- Peak-tariff pre-cool — cools cheap, coasts through expensive window
- Compatible with split AC, central HVAC, underfloor heating, electric resistive
- Humidity-aware — tracks indoor RH, switches to dry-mode on muggy days
- Filter and service reminders — tracks runtime and warns before issues
- Voice control — Alexa, Google, Apple Home (Matter)
- Energy report — daily / monthly kWh, cost, savings vs fixed setpoint
Use Cases
- Family home with mixed schedules — pre-cools each room as its person heads home
- Dhaka heatwave management — closes blinds and pre-cools before peak afternoon
- Time-of-use tariff — shifts cooling load out of the expensive 14:00–17:00 window
- Vacation mode — holds 30 °C max while you’re away, recovers to 23 °C an hour before return
- Nursery / kids’ room — tighter comfort band (22–23.5 °C) overnight
- Small office — cools meeting rooms only when booked (calendar integration)
- Mixed heating + cooling — same dial handles AC summer and underfloor winter
