Smart Sensor Suite
Overview
Smart Sensor Suite is a modular IoT sensor bundle for industrial and field deployments — temperature, humidity, motion, vibration, door, and leak sensing in a single mesh that streams to a redundant LoRaWAN/LTE edge gateway and on to cloud dashboards and mobile alerts.
Built for sites where downtime is expensive and visibility matters: cold storage, manufacturing floors, server rooms, agricultural greenhouses, warehouses, and remote infrastructure. Sensors self-organize, the gateway runs edge rules locally (so alerts fire even if the internet is down), and operators get role-based push/email/SMS notifications within seconds.
- 6+ sensor types in one bundle, expandable via pluggable modules
- Edge intelligence — thresholds, anomaly detection, offline buffering, OTA updates
- Multi-channel alerts — push, email, SMS, webhook to Slack/Teams/PagerDuty
- Encrypted end-to-end — AES-128 over LoRa, TLS 1.3 to cloud, 24-hour key rotation
Architecture
The diagram above shows the four layers of a Smart Sensor Suite deployment. Hover any module to see the live telemetry it produces.
- Sensor Mesh — battery- or PoE-powered nodes in the field, self-healing mesh on LoRaWAN. Each node carries 1–4 sensor heads. Encrypted at the link layer with AES-128.
- Edge Gateway — collects packets, applies local rules (e.g.,
IF temp > 35°C → page on-call), buffers data when the cloud is unreachable, manages firmware OTA. Redundant LoRaWAN + LTE failover. - Cloud Dashboard — long-term storage, 24-hour trend charts, AI anomaly detection (drift on temperature, bearing-wear pattern on vibration), CSV/Parquet exports, REST & MQTT APIs.
- Mobile & Alerts — role-based on-call rotation, multi-channel dispatch, acknowledgement workflow, escalation chains. Operators see live status, technicians get device-level data, managers get aggregated SLAs.
A continuous feedback loop pushes operator acknowledgements, updated thresholds, and new firmware back to the sensors — visible as the purple stream along the bottom of the diagram.

Features
- Edge rules engine — if/then threshold alerts that fire even when the cloud is unreachable
- AI anomaly detection — cloud-side models flag drift, bearing wear, hot-spotting before they become failures
- OTA firmware updates — push new firmware to sensors and gateways in batches with rollback on failure
- Role-based access — operators, technicians, managers see different views and get different alerts
- Multi-channel dispatch — push, email, SMS, voice call, webhook (Slack / Teams / PagerDuty)
- Offline buffering — gateway stores up to 7 days of data when WAN is down, syncs on reconnect
- Export APIs — REST, MQTT, CSV / Parquet bulk export for BI tools
- Dashboards & reports — drag-drop widget builder, scheduled PDF reports by email
Use Cases
- Cold storage & cold chain — temperature compliance with audit-grade history
- Manufacturing / predictive maintenance — vibration-based bearing wear detection on motors and pumps
- Server rooms & data centres — temperature, humidity, water-leak under raised floor
- Agricultural greenhouses — climate monitoring with vent / fan / heater control
- Warehouses & logistics yards — door, motion, leak sensing across dispersed buildings
- Remote infrastructure — pumping stations, telecom huts, off-grid sites (LoRa + solar)
