Smart Fan
Overview
Smart Fan — ceiling or tower — is a Wi-Fi connected, BLDC-motor fan with auto-mode that adjusts speed and oscillation to the room's heat-index, plus app, voice, and schedule control. Up to 65% more efficient than conventional fans, and quiet enough for bedrooms.
Built for hot climates and energy-conscious households. The BLDC motor sips 18–32 W instead of 70–90 W, runs at 8 fine speed steps instead of 3, and oscillates silently. Auto-mode reads the room's temperature and humidity to compute heat-index and ramps speed up or down accordingly. Quiet hours, sleep timers, and scenes (Sleep / Study / Boost / Natural breeze) round out a fan you can forget about.
- BLDC motor — silent, 65% more efficient than induction motors
- Auto-mode — adjusts speed to heat-index and occupancy
- 8 speeds + oscillation with ±60° range and silent reversal
- Voice + schedule + scenes — Alexa, Google, Apple Home, Matter ready
How It Works
The diagram above shows the four layers of the Smart Fan. Hover any module to see the live telemetry.
- The fan — ceiling or tower form factor — uses a brushless DC motor with fine 8-step speed control. The blade pitch is optimised for low-noise high-airflow at moderate speeds.
- Speed & climate — onboard temperature, humidity, and PIR sensors feed the controller. Auto-mode ramps the speed gauge to match the calculated heat-index; oscillation sweeps the breeze across the room.
- Cloud dashboard logs 24-hour speed curves, monthly kWh, auto-speed events, and filter-clean reminders. Compare your usage to a baseline AC-only month to see real kWh saved.
- Voice & scenes — say "speed 4" or pick from Sleep, Study, Boost, Natural breeze. Quiet hours cap maximum speed overnight; schedules wake the fan before alarm.
A feedback loop pulls auto-speed learning, new scenes, and firmware updates back to the fan — visible as the teal stream along the bottom of the diagram.
Features
- BLDC motor — silent, efficient, long-life bearings
- 8 fine speed steps with imperceptible transitions
- Auto-mode — heat-index responsive
- Oscillation ±60° with silent direction reversal
- Natural breeze — pseudo-random speed pattern that feels like outdoor wind
- Sleep timer — auto-off in 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 hours, with gentle ramp-down
- Quiet hours — speed cap and oscillation lock overnight
- Voice control — Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcuts
- Energy reports — daily kWh, vs. AC baseline, monthly summary
- Matter 1.2 ready for cross-ecosystem smart-home integration
Use Cases
- Bedrooms — sleep timer + quiet hours for low-noise overnight cooling
- Living rooms — auto-mode tracks heat-index without manual fiddling
- Home offices — Study scene = mid speed, no oscillation, quiet motor
- Hot-climate flats — pair with AC; fan does the bulk of cooling, AC sips less power
- Kids' rooms — schedule auto-off, parental lock on max speed
- Open kitchens — boost mode clears cooking heat quickly
- Outdoor patios — IP-rated outdoor variant with weather-sealed motor
